Biography

Soprano

Daughter of the musician Llorenç Bau and the soprano singer Carme Bonaplata, she studied singing with them. After her first debut at 16 years of age, he performed at La Scala (Milan), Colón (Buenos Aires) and Teatro Real (Madrid) between 1910 and 1912, operas by Boito, Verdi, Puccini and Massenet. Her musical career includes performances at the main opera houses of Portuga, Argentina, Cuba and Italy, in addition to Liceu (Barcelona). She worked with renowned conductors such as Toscanini and performers such as Schipa, Fleta or Lázaro.  Her repertoire included mainly Italian opera, but also La Dolores by Bretón, premieres of La Princesa Margarida by Jaume Pahissa, (1927-1928), El estudiante de Salamanca by Joan Gaig (1935) and the revival of María del Carmen by Granados (1933).
