Pianist and pedagogue
He studied with Vidiella at the Escola Municipal de Música of Barcelona. He debuted in 1908 at Palau de la Música Catalana and gave concerts in Spain and South America in the 1910s and 1920s. In 1927 he founded an orchestral ensemble bearing his name that accompanied film screenings at the Coliseum cinema. In addition, he was a piano teacher at the Institut Musical Casals and the Escola Municipal de Música of Barcelona. He played duets with, among others, Pau Casals, Gaspar Cassadó, Francesc Costa, Joan Massià and Jacques Thibaud. Among his performances, Beethoven’s complete piano sonatas and trios have been highly regarded.
