Biography

Composer, organist and conductor 

He started his music studies at the Escolania de Montserrat with Anselm Ferrer and, later at the Granados Academy with Domènec Mas i Serracant and Frank Marshall. From 1924 onwards, he developed his pianistic career and co-founded of the Albéniz Academy. He was organ professor at the Conservatori del Liceu and, between 1950 and 1960, he was organist at the Palau de la Música Catalana. On several occasions he conducted the orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu. His notable works include the opera Nausica, transcriptions for orchestra of music by J. S. Bach, C. Debussy or A. Dvorâk and the orchestration Celos aun del aire matan by Juan Hidalgo.
