Son of Francisco Abarcat (1837-1890) he taught multiple students, including Joan Lamote de Grignon at the Conservatori del Liceu. He conducted the orchestral ensemble founded by his father in Barcelona. He was close to Felip Pedrell. He composed mainly religious music, e.g., Himne a San Luis Gonzaga.
