Biography

Critic, composer and musicologist

It is not known if his music education started in Begur or in Barcelona. He was a music critic in the newspaper Las Noticias and wrote articles on music. In addition, he was a musical advisor to the Unió Ràdio Barcelonesa. He composed sardanes, chamber music, religious music and two zarzuelas, one of which (La conquista de papa) was well received. His articles emphasize the interest of the restoration of the tradition of the contrapàs and the sardana of Empordà and Girona.

He also studied astronomy and in 1910, he became one of the founders of the Astronomical Society of Barcelona.
