Child to a Danish father and a French mother, she soon began her musical training. In 1902 she married the composer Joaquim Nin i Castellanos, a marriage that ended in divorce. She trained as an opera singer and performed sporadically. Her last performance took place in Sala Espadero in Havana, after which she abandoned her career and got married.
