She studied piano at Liceu Conservatory and the Escola Municipal de Música de Barcelona with Robert Goberna, Francesc Pujol and Cristòfor Taltabull. From 1910 to 1914 she studied at the Escola Normal of Barcelona. She received a BA in Philosophy and Literature (1927) from the University of Barcelona and a professorship of French literature at a secondary school, while also teaching music. Between 1925 and 1940, she took part in field work for the Obra del Cançoner Popular de Catalunya. Specifically, she worked with Maria Carbó (Val d'Aran, La Seu d'Urgell, Pallars Jussà i Sobirà and Sant Feliu de Guíxols), with Enric d'Aoust (who she married) (Pallars, Ribagorça and Baix Empordà), and with Mercè Porta (Ripollès and Vallespir). She collected around 10,000 songs and her research output is of high interest. In the post-war period, she published three songbooks for voice, flute and piano (Mis canciones, Mis canciones navideñas and Cancionero de Montaña).
