Biography

Educator and composer

He initially studied in his hometown and later in Barcelona with teachers such as Joan Tomàs, Joan Gibert, Blanca Selva, Vicenç Maria de Gibert and Francesc Pujol. He was interested in choir music. At the end of the Civil War he founded the male choir Tomás Luis de Victoria focused on the polyphonic repertoire. Between 1946 and 1966, he was deputy conductor of the Orfeó Català. He also composed music for male voices and cantatas for white voices. From 1944 until his death, he was the director of the Escoles Virtèlia from which he promoted the Acadèmia de Música de Barcelona.
