Biography

Organist, musicologist and composer

He studied at Escolania de Montserrat and had Anselm Ferrer, Àngel Rodamilans and Ildefons Civil as his teachers. In 1933 he was a monk in the Monastery of Montserrat. He studied theology and philosophy, partly in Germany.

He was a student of Josep Barberà and Cristòfor Taltabull. He was a co-founder of the Catalan Society of Musicology. He was professor and organist at the Escolania de Montserrat and conducted the monastery’s monk choir until his death. He stood out in the field of musicology, especially for his studies on Llibre Vermell and Joan Cererols. He composed religious music.
