Biography

Pianist and teacher

She studied piano at the Escola Municipal de Barcelona with Santiñà, Millet and Pellicer. In 1927 she won the Maria Barrientos prize to study in Paris with Ricard Viñes, with whom she performed at Sala Érard in 1928. From the 1930s, she frequently performed as a soloist of Banda Municipal de Barcelona, Orquestra Pau Casals, Orquestra Simfònica Catalana and, from 1944, Orquestra Municipal de Barcelona. She was also the accompanying pianist of renowned vocal soloists, such as Badia, Vendrell or Plantada, and piano teacher. She made the first recording of Sis Sonets with his uncle Eduard Toldrà. In addition, she premiered Joaquim Serra’s Variacions per a orquestra i piano op.38 (1935), with whom she had a close friendship.
