Guitarist, teacher and composer

Born in a family of guitarist, he worked as guitar teacher in Barcelona until he retired in 1854, after a brief stay in Chile. He directed a publication of solo guitar pieces, called El trovador. He also composed several arrangements. He was also interested in the choir music and the lyrical theatre. He was part of the Societat Filharmònica of Barcelona, speaking at conferences and publishing in journals. Prominent guitarists such as Josep Costa and Jaume Bosch were his pupils.
