He was a disciple of Father Miquel López at the Escolania de Montserrat and years later, he became director of that institution. While in office, he modernized the instrumental ensemble by introducing violins, flutes and oboes. This led to the construccion of new organs in the basilica, including the main organ built by Antoni Boscà. He had multiple disciples, among them Antoni Soler. Some key works of his output have been preserved.
