Biography

Soprano

Student of Bonet, she made her debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in 1888, as Micaela in Bizet’s Carmen. From the 90's she acquired a notable international renown thanks to her debut at La Scala with Lakmé. Her repertoire included French and Italian opera. The critics of the time highlighted her ‘golden voice’, phrasing and vocal line. She was chosen by Ruggero Leoncavallo for the first recording of the opera Pagliacci, under his own baton.

In 1910, after retiring from concert life, she founded a singing school in Barcelona where she trained a large number of singers.
