Biography

Composer and Kapellmeister

He studied at the cathedral of Zaragoza with his uncle and Kapellmeister Lluís Serra. Possibly, he worked at the cathedral of Toledo until 1734. The year before, he took competitive examination for the post of Kapellmeister in Ávila, and he got the post after Mir Llussà resigned. In addition to the having this post the was also rector of the Colegio de los Seises (choirboys), despite the conflicts arisen with the chapter of the cathedral. His compositions for double choir have been highly regarded, as well as his use of Italian music techniques.
