Secretariat de Corals Infantils de Catalunya
  • Year of establishment: 1967
    History:
Started in Manresa, in 1967, this organization began as a meeting of children's choirs under the auspices of Joventuts Musicals. A few years later, the meeting was held in Lleida and this led to the creation of an organization to ensure the promotion and dissemination of this type of choir. With an increasing growth, throughout its history the entity has developed important projects such as the interpretation of the cantata Tirant lo blanc (1975) by Antoni Ros-Marbà. The last major meeting took place in 2002. The Secretariat has received the National Prize for Popular Culture (1993) and the Creu de Sant Jordi (1994).
