Schola Cantorum Universitaria Barcelonensis
  • Year of establishment: 1941
    History:
Founded in 1941, this choir began its career with Antoni Pérez i Moya. Started as a choir of university academic events, little by little it took on its own entity until it became a reference in the Catalan choral scene. Its conductors include the names of Ernest Cervera and Francesc Bonastre. The political upheaval experienced in the seventies stopped the activity of the formation that was recovered in the eighties with the name of University Choir. In 2002, however, a group of students became interested in performing ancient vocal music and regained its original name of Schola Cantorum.
