Biography

Pianist, teacher, musicologist and composer

She studied in Paris but left the Conservatory at the age of twelve to study on her own. Her contact with Vicent d'Indy was crucial in her appointment as her professor at the Schola Cantorum (Paris) at sixten years of age. She stood out as one of the pioneers performing Bach's complete keyboard works.

In 1924, she moved to Barcelona and founded the Estudis Musicals Blanca Selva where, apart from teaching and disseminating her teaching method, she performed a large number of concerts with the violinist Joan Massià.
