Biography

Organist and composer

He began his musical training with Joan Carreras and later studied composition with Josep Barba. He was appointed organist of the cathedral of Girona. Due to the economic hardships of the confiscation (desamortización), he emigrated to Nimes and became organist of the cathedral. Later, he became organist of the cathedral of Viviers. He returned to Girona as a Kapellmeister, but due to the economic difficulties he established himself as organist of Sant Lluís in Seta (Languedoc), a position he held until his death. His output includes a Sonata per a piano (1869) and Missa Solemne per a veus i orgue (1874).
