Biography

Composer, author and vihuela performer

He was linked to the ducal court of Ferdinand II of Aragon and Duke of Calabria, to the city of Valencia and, probably, to the Portuguese court. He was the author of Libro de música de vihuela de mano intitulado El maestro (València 1536), which is considered the first book of the vihuela technique that includes compositions by the same author (40 fantasies, 4 tientos and 6 pavanas in tablature notation). In addition, Milà published three literary works: Libro de motes de dames y cavalleros (1535), El juego de mandar (1535) and El cortesano (Valencia, 1561), where he describes life at the court of Germana de Foix and her husband, Ferdinand II of Aragon.
