History:
Ensemble specializing in contemporary music founded in 1976 by Josep M. Mestres Quadreny and Carles Santos, with the cooperation of Fundació Miró and La Caixa. The first concert held by the GIC was a monograph dedicated to Robert Gerhard and included the composer’s music, in addition other to music by composers who paid tribute to him. He took part in various festivals and in the so-called Jornades Catalanes in Berlin. Economic problems led to the dissolution of the group, which was active only three years.
