Biography

Bass singer

Pupil of Joaquim Vidal Nunell from 1912. In 1915, he made his debut at the Teatre del Bosc with Donizetti’s La Favorita and at the Gran Teatre del Liceu with Ponchielli’s La Gioconda. He moved to Italy and developed much of his artistic career in the cities of Naples, Bologna, Genoa, Rome and Milan, where he debuted at La Scala theater in 1929 with La fuerza del destino. In those years he also sang in Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo. After the Spanish Civil War, he returned to Catalonia and sung during the 1940s and 1950s at the Gran Teatre del Liceu.
