Biography

Violinist and composer

Brother of Gaspar Cassadó and son of Joaquim Cassadó. He received his first lessons at the Escolania of the Basilica of La Mercè, which was run by his father. He was a student of Pere Jofre. His ability as a violinist allowed him to make his debut at eight years of age in a concert of the Associació Wagneriana. In Paris, he studied with Jacques Thibaud. He was a renowned soloist in Europe. The beginning of the First World War made him return to Catalonia. He had a Stradivarius instrument at his disposal. An unexpected typhoid fever ended his life at just 21 years of age. He published a few chamber music compositions.
